This is the new nvq don't know how many people are doing it.... I'm finishing a project on child development and need to do a bit on factors affecting growht and development in 0 - 3, 4 - 7, 8 - 12, and 13 - 16 years.... have no idea been through all the text books which don't seem to hint at diddly squat. Not entirely sure if I'm even doing it on the right thing, the study day was on cognitive development but the project seems to be on general development!!!! Argh. Any help please!!!

You need to be talking about milestones and the expected developmental points and things that might affect or delay develop or achievement of these things. Cognitive and growth development are very related and you need to be writing about these things together.

Shout if I can help any more, I'll dig out my work!

argh yes more help please!!!

I've been given a list of around six headings, told to write on each for the age groups, but I have two text books which I feel don't cover it (EYCE nvq 3) and Child Development an illustrated guide and she said these two books would give me adequate information, and she wasn't even going to give me any handouts as I didn't need them.

I'm a bit worried about the course, I'm always told I write far more than anyone else (this is so far 8 pages?) but it asks for summaries on each section, and I only have a paragraph for each!!! This is what I get for missing a study day I guess...

The way I used to write my essays was a mind map with every thing I thought might be connected to the subject. Then write an essay plan making sure I including everything on my mind map. Finally before writing I'd check the list of competetancies/understandings (can't remember the phrase they used sorry) and then I'd write it.

I did it that was because I knew I'd covered everything I should and maybe a bit more but oh well. My tutor never did have a problem with too much, does yours?

Oh and I just remembered for my cognitive/child development I used a chart found in the book your given for your first baby will the milestones on. It was great because it didn't just say by 8 months, it should an expected range i.e from not at. If you get what I mean.

What are your six headings?
