5 month old leaking in size 5 nappies at night

My DS is 5 months old and 17Lbs. he leaks wee around his right hip at night. i'm trying to get him to sleep through the night so need a nappy that'll last 10-12hrs. I've tried Pampers active fit 4+, Baby dry 5, Lidl 5, Asda active fit 4+ and their comfort dry 5's. Any suggestions? Am about to try older DS's 5+ asda ones but worry they will be too big.

Try Lidl ones in a smaller size, and make sure he's pointing down when you put the nappy on

Also, and this sounds obvious, make sure his willy is pointing downwards (I had to do this tonight on DS2, still in nappies at 10 cos of autism)Smile

Don't forget to gently make sure the elastic is snug round the legs, just give it a little wriggle and it goes into place.

THANK YOU... I know this is an old thread and inactive now but I'm so grateful to have come across it (at 3.30am after yet another leak - poor 5 mo baby woken from a smiling sleep to change into another 4+) Like the OP, i thought I needed to make my way up the sizes... And very useful to know that active fit are actually less absorbant (I think I've just put him in 4+ active fit, doh!) Recently lo looks slimmer round the waist after growing longer so totally makes sense that actually the nappies are too big, even tho not obviously so when fastened.
I have been a silent user of mumsnet for most of this yr but had to sign up right now in middle of night to express my gratitude.

My DD is 18 months & in a size 5.

Lidls I find are the best, shes never leaked in them and £4.80 for 44.

Currently only ever used pampers (usually on offer buy one get one free at supermarkets works out similar price to Lidl) but useful to know which other brands to try Smile
