Hi all,

DS (11 mo) finally has 2 front teeth... well almost :)
Can anyone recommend which toothbrush and toothpaste they use for their LOs ?

TIA :)

DS has always liked the boots own ones, here, they seem to be pretty mild and have fish on the packet more importantly! Just use one you can get hold of easily, they can get very obsessed with having the same one. He wouldn't use aqua fresh or the bubble gum one or strawberry. Took us a while to find something vaguely acceptable. Do start with v v little, just a hint of a smear, would be my advice.

We started with the aqua fresh toothbrush and moved on to an electric when he was about 2 as it was becoming a bit of a fight.

Actually, you've made me think, DD has 2 teeth now....trip to boots I think.

I buy brushbaby online. They do an apple flavored one for 0-3yrs with reduced fluoride, xylitol, and no sls.

Xylitol protects the teeth from the bacteria that causes the decay in the first place. Fluoride strengthens the enamel once the damage has been done. Sls is an ingredient added to a lot of toothpastes (to make them foam up) that prevents xylitol working properly.

When mine won't brush, I just smear it on to their teeth with my finger, then at least they're still getting the benefits of the active ingredients.

DS (15mo) has a wisdom brush and I use Aquafresh milk teeth toothpaste.
Fluoride (1000ppm) is very important IMO. Just a smear though.
I'm a dentist btw.
