Party what to do?

DS has been off all week with tonsillitis. Another friend has told me that her son in the same class has been invited to a party by a class mate. As they are not good friends I have assumed it is a class party with everyone invited, however we are minus an invite as he was off. I don't want him to turn up on Monday having missed out, but mum of party boy is very stand offish and hard to like and school is now closed, I could text her, we have a shared contacts list, but is that too cheeky? What to do?

I wouldn't contact her unless you're absolutely sure it's a whole-class do.

I would just leave it as your ds hasn't been well. It will just be something he missed when he was ill. Like maths or assembly.

You've assumed it's a class party - you don't know it's a class party. The two boys may not be close now but possibly the birthday mum is actively encouraging a friendship for whatever reason - there are so many factors you can't be sure of. So do nothing. If your DS is invited birthday mum will chase.

If she's got your contact details wouldn't she contact you?
If you contact her and your ds isn't invited then you are putting her in an awkward situation.

Good point about the contact list!

The mum might be worried that your DS is infectious.
