That's it really - at what age did you put your LO in two-piece pyjamas rather than a sleepsuit?
Thanks!

Around two, when I couldn't get them any bigger although now they do them for any age I suppose. They are cosier I think keeping their feet warm and no cold air on their backs.

AnotherWorld · 17/09/2013 14:46

From before 3 months. But we switched between baby gros and PJs depending on what was clean.

stowsettler · 17/09/2013 16:14

6 months (she's just gone into them). Mainly because people bought them for her and she seems to be like me: can't stand having hot feet!

We now have both types. DS is nearly 4 years old. I prefer the onesies, because the top doesn't ride up and there are no uncomfortable waistbands, etc. I have the footless ones. I think they stop putting the feet in onesies from around 18 months size.

DS is not yet dry at night. Should he be wanting to use the potty at night on his own, then pyjamas would be more practical. But then again, he is also still in a sleeping bag, and doesn't like duvets..

Rhubarbgarden · 17/09/2013 19:31

I think around twelve months. But I put dd back into onesies that fastened up the back when she was around two and going through a phase of taking off her nappy in the middle of the night.

CreatureRetorts · 17/09/2013 19:33

When they started walking. We've got slippery floors.

HPsauceonbaconbuttiesmmm · 17/09/2013 19:54

When he went into a bed at 2. Pjs tend to pull the nappy down ime and so we put off as long as poss.

JellyMould · 17/09/2013 19:56

At about 10 months when I stopped being able to hold them still long enough to get the poppers done up.

cherrytomato40 · 17/09/2013 19:56

The funny thing is my 5yo and 3yo have decided they want onsies to sleep in now, so they look like they are back in giant babygros!

purrpurr · 17/09/2013 19:57

At around 4 weeks. The legs on this baby of mine! She couldn't lie straight in a sleepsuit. Plus I am really quite crap at poppers and I don't miss them. I think I worked out that on average retailers put 11 poppers on sleepsuits. 11 of the bloody things! For 'easy changing'! Not for big clumsy foam hands here!

Oceansurf · 17/09/2013 19:58

Also 10 months here. Trying to do up poppers on a wriggling/crawling baby is nigh on impossible. One whip up of the pj bottoms and you're done Grin

Twattergy · 17/09/2013 20:19

About 18 months. He does tend to whip of his pj trousers as he wakes up but I find them more practical now. Did have a short phase of taking them off as he went to sleep , but it was just short phase.

sittinginthesun · 17/09/2013 20:22

Stayed in babygrows as long as possible. They always seemed warmer, and ds1 always seemed to lose his trousers/bottoms on the night.

Think it was when they went dry at night - between 2 and 3? X

YBR · 17/09/2013 20:25

Around 20 months we stopped being able to find them large enough, and it happened to correspond with DD moving into the "adult" bed from the cot. For a while it was whatever was at the top of the clean pile though!

Thurlow · 17/09/2013 20:29

About 10m here too. It was an eye opener - so much easier than babygrows! It was forced because I couldn't find babygrows in the right size in the shop, but I'll be doing it even earlier for any future DC.

silverangel · 17/09/2013 20:39

Into pjs at 1 - back into sleepsuits at two as they figured out how to nappies off in cot when wearing pjs.

debbie1412 · 17/09/2013 21:37

9 months I was sick of poppers and the getting tight on her feet. Matalan do cute baby pjs

ToysRLuv · 17/09/2013 22:22

I always had babygrows/onesies with a zip. No stupid poppers to deal with.

Notmyidea · 17/09/2013 22:30

I had a playing-with-nappy-contents type of toddler. I stuck with a babygrow as long as I could.

matana · 18/09/2013 08:02

12 months, same time he moved to a pillow and duvet.

Pascha · 18/09/2013 08:09

Just done it now at 8 months, I last put a sleepsuit on at about 5 months, just vests through the summer and now its a bit colder I've bought pjs.

I really really hate sleepsuits once they grow bigger than newborn. All those bastard poppers which I can never line up correctly. Much much much easier to slip on and off jammies.

ImATotJeSuisUneTot · 18/09/2013 08:10

Last winter DD2 had proper pjs as she was learning to walk and baby grows presented a trip/slip hazard on the feet.

This winter (well, from yesterday) she's back in sleepsuits as they keep her so much warmer than anything else.
