bowel issues in 2 year old

My 2 year old DS very rarely has anything that resembles a solid poo. He regularly has what could be described as diaorhoea but he is not ill and doesnt eat any thing too controversial. Yesterday he ate cheerios for breakfast, had a sandwich and some biscuits for lunch and for his dinner he ate chicken and vegetables with rice followed by a yoghurt and some grapes. This morning at nursery they said that he had 4 very loose diaorhoea like nappies and they have said that because of this they will not let him back on wednesday morning when he is next supposed to go.

I dont really know what to do because there doesnt seem to be anything wrong with him. He usually eats plenty of veg (we disguide it in many of his meals) and he loves fruit. I am just at a loss as to why his bowel movements are like this - could he be allergic to something? I am thinking that I should take him to the doctors but wondered whether anyone else had experience of this?

Google toddler diarrhoea.
We had to cut fruit back to the bare minimum to sort DS1.
Some people say lactose, some more insoluble fibre.
Basically a try it. When we did cut back on the fruit, it had a pretty instantaneous effect (less than a week).
Hope you find it soon. Its really frustrating when you can't send child to nursery when there is nothing wrong, but they can't risk it possibly being D&V that time round.
