argh. can someone explain the difference between ontology and epistemology to me???

you're right though - might call ontology the study of being, and by extension reality, rather than life

questions about the nature of things - e.g. whether things exist or whether human beings exist in the same way as inanimate objects do - are ontological, whereas questions regarding how we about things are epistemological i.e. how we know our knowledge is knowledge
