Stacking cups, the v tech walker was good from 6-12 months, cars, shape sorters and books.

The biggest hit from my DS's 1st bday a few weeks ago was the Tomy Hide and Squeak eggs. He got bigger, fancier, more expensive presents, but he's much more interested in the eggs than anything else. They're about 5 quid online so a nice gift.

Mine loved the eggs too and the shapes cookie jar. Activity table to stand at was worth the money too.

DD loves anything with little figures so happyland, playmobil etc is a big hit.

Mine also loved the eggs Smile and Happyland. Teasets and pretend food was also a huge hit. Also very loud annoying books with animal noises.

DS got the toot toot garage for Christmas (11mo at the time) with 3 cars and has gone from just pushing the buttons to really playing with it, my neice who's 6 will also spend hours playing with it. It was expensive but has plenty of use I know a friend who's boys have it they are 1 and 5 and both play with it so i'm thinking it's going to be used for years to come.

He loves cars too or anything with wheels really dolls pram toy lawnmower, anything he can make move. I like the little metal cars that have been around forever a man who lives on my grans street randomly gave DS a whole bag and both kids spend ages playing with them, they are good to stick in your bag if you are going out can be played with in the buggy and don't 'do' anything so they have to use their imaginations to play with them... though you do need a barbie handy to be the traffic warden Grin

Great suggestions - hadn't come across the eggs but they look good and are very reasonable, so thank you!

His ball pool - though he spends all his time sat outside of it, emptying it, throwing the balls one by one across the lounge! There must be about 200 balls under the sofa.... Smile

Hide and squeak eggs a big hit, stacking cups, he loves his Thomas the tank engine toys and his early learning centre Noah's ark!
