Probably not. How old is the child?

surprise11871 · 01/09/2013 20:06

I took my 7 month old to max speilmans they were brilliant 5 pound and if you keep the receipt if the photo does get sent back they take another for free you get 8 photos and they cut 4 to the perfect size aswell sorry i no this not might help much now but might be worth trying

Just take a pic at home and upload to Picture Lizard or similar, they crop it, print it and post out for about three quid.

Take yourself and photobox is really good. Use a white towel or sheet as background.

I also spent a ton at the post office failing to get a suitable pic of ds1. Then I discovered that most photo shops will take passport pics of your lo with a digital camera for a set price of about £5, so no worries about not getting a perfect shot in the 4 attempts a booth allows you. Made it 1000 times easier!

GeordieCherry · 01/09/2013 22:00

Yes to Max Spielman. The one here the staff were lovely with DD, helped her not cry, made sure I was happy with the pic etc.

Maybe a little more ££ than other options but stress free & we got what we needed

SquidgyMummy · 01/09/2013 22:03

I used passpics
when DS was 4 days old (born abroad)
you just need a digital photo emailed to them, they do the rest

Snappy Snaps have always been good for us. I used to take my own but I like that SS guarantee that the photo will meet guidelines and be acceptable.

RachelHRD · 01/09/2013 22:11

Another Snappy Snaps fan here - they were recommended by the Post Office as they follow their guidelines and guarantee the photos or you get a refund.

LKbabyH · 01/09/2013 23:12

Another passpic user here for both kids when they were 4months old.
Photo of them lying in the cot to get light background, I stood on a chair and took photos straight down using my iPhone Grin.

rrreow · 02/09/2013 14:07

I used Snappy Snaps for my then 3 month old. I think it was about £7 for 4 pictures. It's also good because they ask which country it's for (different countries can have slightly different rules) and make sure they'll meet the guidelines.

minipie · 02/09/2013 15:20

I used Paspic too, couldn't have been easier, lay baby on white sheet and take some snaps and upload, they will print and post to you (and will even tell you if they don't comply with the rules)

mummycat0 · 02/09/2013 16:32

Another Snappy snaps user. They did the job when dd was 4mo, although we ended up paying almost £9 for 4 pictures and they didn't look very flattering imo so I was quite disappointed!

Pachacuti · 02/09/2013 17:14

Snappy Snaps charge extra for babies (under 1yo) which I've never quite been able to understand, as although they may be slightly trickier to photograph the rules are also more relaxed.

ilovepowerhoop · 02/09/2013 19:08

I used paspic for ds's last passport and they were accepted with no problems.

Melonbreath · 03/09/2013 10:50

I used passpics too and just had dd's shiny new passport arrive
