How do I get 17 month old dd to stop waking at 5.30am...?

Got the black out curtains, tried the later bedtime, but she's exhausted. I can't leave her to cry as it wakes DS up (6) and then he's worn out at school. I'm so tired and work late shifts. HELP!!!!

Try Clarins Beaty Flash Balm around the eyes if the sleeping doesnt improve. I have had 3 4ams on the run now and am using it by the bucket lol.

5:15 for me, although ds gave me a break yesterday and slept til 7:40 (or "afternoon", as you must call it aaronsmummy!). I don't feel tired as such, just completely non-functional. I think I am going to have to take some time off work as I am dazed and confused.

Btw, well worth it to keep them in grobags, my poor dnephew was a 'leg through cot bars' boy and ended up breaking his leg one night as a result, horrible.

Omg poor little thing. Grobags are a godsend - ds1 never had them and didnt sleep well until he started school. ds2 had them and slept well for the first 2 years but now at 3 he is too big and obstinate - he would hop into my room in the early hours and probably hurts himself. dd has had one since she was born and has always been an excellent sleeper. I know ds2 is an early riser but i am lucky because i don't work (he is autistic) so can put my feet up for the odd couple of mins in the day. Must be murder sleep deprivation and a job.

4.45am for me today, she is happily napping after much resistance and i'm sat here with huuuuggggeee bags under me eyes I know i could catch 40winks for i've so much to do (apart from MN of course) Grin

just thought i`d add mine ds is 21months and is in bed by 6.30 the latest and wakes up between 5 and 6 every morning tried letting have a nap in the day then going to bed later but hes still up at the same time and is more ratty before bedtime
he knows that after his bath its bedtime and happily goes to sleep so as he goes to bed early i know hes getting a good sleep even if i fell like crap at 5 when he wakes.
