Biggest worry

A friend of mine (male) and I were discussing this question.

What is your biggest worry?

My answer was my children are my biggest. His was money. So what is your number one fear as a mother - money or your children?

Kids every time. Money can go up or down but something happening to dd fills me with terror. Surely most people would say that? Mind you, I've experienced having nothing and plenty so neither option scares me. DH may say money though...

Death, frankly, is my biggest worry. Tragically is inevitable (I mean in the next half-century, not next week! I hope). And I do realise that it makes as much sense as being scared of the time before I was born. But... all the same.

The children. And lately, as I've not been well and am awaiting results of lots of blood tests, my own health, as I couldn't bear the thought of them having to grow up without their Mummy. Bit morbid.

My child. I could cope with being bankrupt if I still had my DD but without her I would have no reason to go on.

Do you mean now or in the future?

Now it's money, in that we have none and mounting debts. If the work comes flooding in in September [hopeful] that'll all be sorted by Xmas.

In the future I worry about my dc, I hope they do well at school and don't get bullied like I did, or they don't fall in with the wrong crowd and get into drugs and crime like dh did. I worry about their mental health, hoping that my depression and struggle to cope and bond or connect with them at times doesn't have a detrimental affect on them.

I hope that makes sense.
