8 week old baby sick after feeds

Hi all,
I'm after some advice. My DD is 8 weeks tomorrow. She was 7 pound 15 when born and dropped to 7 pound 2 after birth. I was exclusively breastfeeding but after slow weight gain I was advised to top her up with formula. I was doing both and her weight gain improved slightly. She is now 9 pound 6 oz. She has dropped from the 25th percentile to between the 25th and 9th. She can be very sick after feeds. My DS was sick when he was a baby but I never worried about it as he gained weight and the doctor and health visitor never took me on board with it as he gained weight and was healthy. I'm a little concerned with my DD slow weight gain. She is otherwise healthy and alert. I have recently switched her to a hungrier baby milk but worried about whether I have done the right thing? She feeds really well but like I say is sick and i'm wondering whether she gets enough? I'm seeing the doctor and HV next week but in the mean time could do with some advise Confused i'm wondering whether she has reflux and what to do. She has been screaming a lot today as though she has a lot of trapped wind..help!!!!

Could it be a milk allergy? My DD was born 75th centile, dropped to 9th and had really bad wind which made her scream a lot, lots of writhing when feeding, a bit of projectile vomiting and once or twice blood in her poo. I breastfeed so I completely cut out dairy and within a week she was a completely different baby.

I'm not sure..it is very strange. As she is bottlefed now i'm not sure of an alternative? it really gets you down when you don't know what to do to help Sad

Yeah; it's really horrible when they are in pain and you can't do anything to help.

If a baby is diagnosed with a milk allergy I believe you can get a special formula on prescription. (So it's free!)

Have you seen a GP? We took DD after a weekend of projectile vomiting and a dash of blood in poo. To be on the safe side she was referred to a consultant at hospital and they diagnosed a milk allergy due to her symptoms and the fact that she has eczema and I have eczema and asthma (apparently the three go together). I was dubious about it being dairy but there was a marked improvement quite rapidly. It might be worth speaking to GP about it?

DS is 8m now and has reflux and milk intolerance. Some babies tummies are just too immature to digest milk - this causes a temp intolerance rather than an allergy.

As a tiny he was constantly screwed up in a ball in pain from wind and sore tummy. We were prescribed lactose free milk and then cows milk protein free milk along with various different meds for his reflux until we found the wonder of omeprazole.

Defo speak to your HV and gp. Depending on who you see you may need to be a bit pushy to get help but don't give in.

I was lucky in that my gp was lovely and listened from the off but I know plenty of mums who weren't so lucky and were fobbed off.

Has the HV said anything about her weight? I think babies have to drop 2 centiles for concerns to be triggered. With the being sick after feeds, could it be wind making her sick? How is she at burping? You could try different bottles (dr brown good for wind I've heard, although I've not used them) and winding her partway through each feed.
