And it's hard work! He is so happy and just over excited by life! But others are finding him annoying.....it's really hard going our with friends and their kids this summer as I get the impression everyone finds us hard work :(
Help!

It's hardly shocking is it that children play as far as I'm concerned other people should lighten up children are supposed to be hyper. Just as baby animals are very playful. However I think the correct description for hyper is playful happy child. Can anyone tell me what's wrong with that. Also are their kids so perfect. My D.D was very playful as a youngster but it never crossed my mind that people found her hard work. xxx

No, I am the Shouty Mum Sad

Sometimes I wonder what is more judge-worthy: being the one shouting, or the one saying nothing and letting the DC do whatever. Anyone?

I suppose it depends what you mean by "playful". If it's in the same mindset as "spirited".........

I've got the female version, aged almost 5. Sometimes think others may believe she has extra needs, not meaning that I would be upset if she had.

As long as she isn't blundering through another child's game am not going to calm her too much. She really does seem to be letting off steam, and they need to do it somewhere.

Ha mine was like this, gwaaad and huge too. A boisterous brute who laughed, bellowed and roared through life. Now older he is still the same really but it works better, ls of energy for friends, sport and never short on ideas. Still bossy but popular with it.

It's not so much squashing but coaching in sharing and consideration. You might as well start now because it might take 3 or 4 years! But then if you start on the loud "OSCAR PLEASE TAKE TURNS " you will get done for loud parenting Grin. I get this with DS2 you have my sympathy.

Yes I suppose being playful is the same as being spirited which to me is no bad thing. xx
