I dont but it appear to be very hard wok, lots of commitments and very expensive for lessons and costumes. My DD does ballet/ jazz and tap. Thankfully no competitions, but we have 1 big show a year (costumes are hired), summer school £100+, correct outfits for exams etc. Competitions seem like a nightmare to an outsider Grin.

Its a lot of work but the show that our lot do is very much team work as is the summer school, the older ones even stay over at the teachers houses for the week. Bonus is I don't have to sew on sequins Grin.

She is 6yrs, she really loves her dancing, and TBH I enjoy having a coffee with the other mums, its a big dance school in its own premises with a cafe. The older kids help out in the younger classes and at the shows. I will be happy if DD wants to spend every night of the week there Grin, there are some thet go straight from school and even have there tea there. The older ones were amazing in the show and DD looks up to them and wants to be like them.

Not sure if you would get the same cameraderie with the more competitive forms of dancing, I suppose it depends how competitive they are.

I have to laugh at the highland games all the dancers mums sitting under there fishing brolleys having a go at there mortified child who has just got changed for the 5th time in the middle of a field. Grin
