Is it just at my sons school or are all the kids hypa at the moment . I put it down to the weather but now I think football might have something to do with it as wee .

My lot have been very unsettled! yr 1 SEN- we tend to be quite boisterous but they are more so at the momnent.
It is very hot, and they have possibly not been sleeping well.

peasinapod · 15/06/2006 17:01

Its just weird they are all so off the bloomin wall . I help out in year three they have been doing a show this week and then I put it down to that ,But I went to pick up DS year 2 and the student teacher who is a real sweetie was really wobbly as she said they had been like it too and so has the rest of the school . I felt so sorry for her (she even cried a little to me ) as she was wondering wether her skills were enough and she was doubting herself . I told her she was great and from a parent point of view she was fab and well liked . I hoped this helped . (gave her a hug as I left )

Hi I teach a mixed class of Y1 and Y2 and mine have been awful since we went back after half term. They are hyper, loud, falling out all the time, over-sensitive. It's a nightmare. We've got our trip on Monday to Twycross Zoo so that is working as good bribery at the moment. Goodness knows what I'll do after Monday!! I think it's a mixture of the weather, the football and also the Y2's getting too big for their boots as they are off to junior school in 5 weeks time.

Pixiefish · 15/06/2006 17:55

It's also the time of year.

southeastastra · 15/06/2006 17:57

I too am a T.A I think it is a combination of all the above-footie the heat and we are into the last term so lots of finishing things off winding down and treats and trips coming up.
I agree with you Abbeylou- our year6's are marking their final stamp on school while they are top of the pile so to speak.Year 2's are giddy cos they will go upstairs soon.Reception are giddy cos they are reception!

peasinapod · 15/06/2006 18:09

summer-term-itis

dinosaure · 15/06/2006 20:54

My children, normally good sleepers, seem to ahve enormous difficulty getting off to sleep atm, resulting in tired and cross sprogs each morning. Help!

gingernutlover · 15/06/2006 20:56

similar symptoms may be observed at the following times

end of any term
school trips
when dog enters playground (we had ostrich once too!)
when wasp enters classroom

and just about anytime in my class

gingernutlover · 16/06/2006 09:20

no really an ostrich - the school is in a country setting and the lady who lives near owns all kinds of animals! I have never seen it since tho - think the children must have terrified it.

JILS · 16/06/2006 09:57

I've been a SAHM since last June, but was primary teacher for 13 years before that. This just brings back lots of memories. Expect children to be hyper when it's windy, snowy, there's a full moon (really!), when something "different" is spotted through the classroom window (eg window cleaner!), when it's the last week of term or all of the final term, WHEN TEACHER IS TIRED OR HAS PMT (only joking!! Wink), when there's a school concert/trip coming up, a wasp in the classroom (think someone else said that too). The list could go on and on. BTW, I've taught lots of different year groups, it's the same with all of them.

peasinapod · 16/06/2006 18:08

I told her today it wasnt just her as I had asked you lot . LOL but it was pmt so bless all is well today .
