Hello all :-)

Do you think it is best to start potty training with an actual potty or is it ok to go straight to a cushioned potty seat that attaches to your normal toilet?

Would of thought it would make things alot simpler but maybe not?

What do you think?

Thanks x

Ds (2.5) does both, i try and get him to do all poos in the toilet(!) and he likes to wee standing up now but potty downstairs as well. Toilet v easy if you have a downstairs loo.

It's up to you and also dependent on how conveniently your toilet is located. I have just potty trained DD and we use a potty. We have been going for 10 days though and spent so much time with the potty outside it has been great. But we still have to transition to toilet yet..... Also when out and about will child happily sit on public loo or will you need to take toilet seat with you? BTW can get fold up seats for this purpose.

Oohhh i dont know now? Never imagined I would one day be racking my brain about toilet issues! lol Think I might just have to buy both....potty for other rooms and the seat for the loo....or will this confuse her?...oohhh i dunno!! lol

Thanks for your replies :-)

I would get her used to both.
You'll definately need a potty when you're out in car etc.they can't hold it while you find public loo let alone fit one of those seats.
