Hi guys, tonight I got back from work and my ds was a little niggly, but noticed his face had a yellow tinge, does anyone experience this before with this age? Any advice would be appreciated. No temperature, and sleeping now. Should I be concerned or take him to doctor? Or am I being paranoid 1st time mum? Thanks x

Are the whites of his eyes yellow?

Is he weaning yet?! Sometimes if they eat lots of carrot/biutternut squash they can Gert an oirangry/yellow tinge, my friends little boy did!

Seriously tho make a drs app this needs checking out.

What is his wee like?

SinisterSal · 14/08/2013 22:48

I would get it checked out - I don't think they would think you are paranoid. (Though you probably are!) OOH?

mummy2benji · 14/08/2013 22:49

Has he been unwell? Feeding okay? Gaining weight fine etc? Tbh if he is actually yellowish, rather than simply pale or peaky, I would ring the out of hours GP for advice and see if he needs to be seen or if it can wait until tomorrow. If you ring your own GP surgery number it will connect you to your local OOH provider. [I'm a GP]

His wee is normal, he is weaning, so eating purity in between feeds. He is eating normally and sleeping normally too, the only thing is this yellow tinge, thanks for all your advice, think I will get him checked out anyway x

What did the GP say?

newmum2Jack · 21/08/2013 21:41

Hi guys,

Thanks for advice. Doctor said nothing to worry about, may be too much keratine in the food. She said as long as his wee is normal and she had no concerns regarding colour of his eyes and palms.... Now the next stage teething...Shock I take my hat off to all mothers, it's the hardest job in the world (and I've done tough jobs) ,but sooo worth itGrin

Lol i said it could be the food!

He must eat a lot of carrot Grin

Glad all is well :)

Yes it definitely is the hardest job in the world! The most rewarding too. I hope everything else goes smoothly for you including teething! Dd2 (10mo) is going through that phase at the moment. Glad your lo is fine.

I believe Hipp organics jars are notorious for this as they contain so much carrot. Just in case you use them. So glad it wasn't anything serious.
