Potty training regression, what do I do?

Dd1 is 23 months old and during the day completely dry. She wears pull ups at night and during naps and I've not started to tackle night dryness as I figured she'd do it in her own time.

This week she's been wetting herself, it's completely out of character, not even askin to go, just saying 'mum I'm wet myself' as if its the most normal thing in the world.

I don't usually tell her off but just now I did :( I told her it was naughty and she's not a baby anymore an can use the toilet or ask if we're not at home. I didn't shout but I was annoyed with her and now I feel awful.

Is this regression normal? I'm going to phone the dr tomorrow as on Tuesday night and Wednesday she has a very very high temp (spiked at 42c after I'd given calpol) the ooh dr sai there was no visible sign of I fraction anywhere. I was wondering if it could be a uti? I just don't know what to do any more, do I start again, putting her in pull ups? I don't have enough clothes or hours to wash everything were getting through.

Saying all this she's just got out of bed and asked if she could use the toilet! I really don't know what to think any more :(

Wow, she was completely dry in the day at 23 months? That's amazing! I think you should go back to basics, don't put pull ups on but ask her if she needs to go every half hour, and try not to over react if she has accidents. Give lots of praise for success etc. They have ups and downs, maybe she is feeling a little unwell. She's very young to be previously doing so well, don't get down about a likely temporary blip.

Definitely rule out UTI

take to dr, try and do sample there for them to dip and send off for analysis

If its clear, start another thread about regression Smile

Temp and wetting herself def could be uti.

But setbacks are common if she is bsuy or engaged in playing, is busy or playing, what kind of flooring do you have? Could you have her nudey on the bottom half? So this easy for her to Goa DM tho it may mean mopping up puddles its not lots of changes of clothes?

thankyou everyone, I completely forgot to come back to this!

I finally got round to calling the Dr today (terrible mummy) after she wet herself 4 times in just over an hour and a half. She didnt seem to know she was doing it till the wee was coming out.

The Dr has given some antibiotics as hes convinced its a UTI and I just need to get a urine sample from her (easier said than done!) to make sure theres nothing else going on.

We've gone back to using pull ups as today she was getting really upset when she kept wetting herself. So once the UTI has cleared up, its back to the beginning, although to be honest, I was so lucky with her, one day she decided to use a potty and that was it, she was completely dry with no accidents from that day onwards!

please tell me its going to be that easy again? I'm not sure I know how to potty train!
