Growing out of moses basket

Wondering what other parents do...

DS is 10 weeks and nearly growing out of moses basket. I like having him next to me for night feeds!

Our bedroom is too small to put his cot in there and nursery is far to small for me to sleep there.

And obviously there's the 6 month advice about having them in the same room as you for avoiding SIDS.

Will he be okay on his own?

We had the same problem with ds a couple of weeks ago. luckily we've managed to rearrange the room (bed right against the wall and cot next to me on other side) as I'm not comfortable putting him in own room and as I'm bf it's so much easier having him next to me.

Other people in rl don't seem to have the same concerns though. was quite shocked to find out that three friends who had babies in the few weeks either side of me have already put dc in own rooms - through choice, not through lack of space.

how much space are you short? would rearranging the room and a narrow cot work?

I put mine in a travel cot next to the bed, would you have enough room for one of those?

We had the same problem and also got a travel cot.

A swinging crib?

At about 14 weeks we actually just moved DS to his cot in the nursery. The Moses basket and the temperature in the different rooms made our decision for us.
Luckily he doesn't still feed at night so no probs there and I have no doubt that would have affected my choice!
I hardly slept at all for worry the first night, monitor turned up super loud, but he seems to really enjoy his cot now (17 weeks)

I started co sleeping

We had this problem and bought a crib. Dd then decided she wouldn't sleep anywhere except our bed, and she's still in with us aged seven months.

We got a crib - should give us another three months before it becomes safe for DD to be on her own in her room. The crib stays upstairs next to my bed. We then invested in a travel cot for downstairs, as that can be used as a playpen in future. We're going on a couple of trips soon anyway so it will definitely come in handy.

We had a crib that was used until DS turned 6 months.

Thanks everyone, a travel cot is a good idea and think that will wwork with the space.

Yes I've been surprised with some parents too - one said she put her girl in her own room after 3 days as she couldn't stand the snuffling noises! I too am a bit worried I won't wake up, though DS has gone from 10pm til 7am the last couple of nights so perhaps I won't need to! fingers crossed :)
