Hi

My 11 week old who is a high needs (fussy) baby has been crying alot since about two weeks. It is in the daytime too and it sounds like she is in pain Hmm. I've tried gripe water but it doesn't seen to make a difference. I'm so shattered. Could she be teething? She is placing her hands in her mouth and has been dribbling too. What do you think/advise?

Sounds like it could be silent reflux to me? DD was exactly the same and didn't start being sick until around 13 weeks. She is now on infant gaviscon sachets and is much better

I'd say reflux or silent reflux as well (medications available from the gp).

I wouldn't rule out teething too, especially with the hands in the mouth and dribbling! Calpol?

Do you have a sling?
I've heard that carrying refluxy babies upright in a wrap sling can really help.
Is she breastfed?

Thanks! Yes she is breastfed.

I've been giving her gripe water but I'm not sure it is helping. She tends to cry alot when she is tired and wants to sleep

Also she only settles when I dance with her upright

Buttery has she been checked for tongue tie? My DS was high needs and it turned out to be this.

Is there a Bfing Support group you can go to? They should be able to observe a complete feed and check for tongue tie and to check your latch.

Know this sounds a bit odd, but try googling youtube Richard and Judy Happiest Baby. Its a great technique for soothing crying babies Smile

Jilted, thanks so much!

Yes tongue tie was removed 10 days ago. I've looked at judy method and just tried it, it seems to have worked Smile. Thanks!

I've also found that she is much more happier in the morning. Is this normal?

Yes completely normal to have fussy evenings Smile

Have you seen a BFC or lactation consultant since the tt was removed? It might be worth working with one to adjust latch maybe?
