Dd aged 7 has been asking the questions about making babies etc. I've always found honestly comes easily with any other subjects but am failing a bit at this. Any help / boom recommendations please?

If your D.D is asking then answer her as honestly as you can. I would recommend the book Mummy laid an egg by Babbette Cole.

My D.D has known about periods since she was 6... The reason.. How do I out this delicately... well there is no way so here goes. I was changing my sanitary towel and she came into the bath room and said "Mummy what's all that blood?".. I said well a lady has eggs in her tummy and sometimes the egg turns into a baby but if it doesn't turn into a baby then the your body has to get rid of the egg and after a few questions she was fine. I've always been as open as possible which I think is important. I don't want her to grow up thinking sex is wrong. xx

We like the Usborne books What's happening to me. There is a boys and a girls version.

DD1 has this one and this. I bought them when she was 4 or 5 and she still happily looks through them now at 7.

I did Mummy Laid An Egg with my daughter when she was four or five - it's great (It's really funny too!) for telling you about where babies come from. If she's 7 though, it might be worth looking at the Usborne books that deal with puberty too (given that some girls start their periods at 8 or 9).

I am very open with her and have discussed openly about puberty, periods etched. It was just the actual baby making that I seemed to have a stumbling block with?!Blush Didn't want to use euphemisms but the anatomical vocab seemed a bit too complicated?! Found the 'mummy laid an egg' book in PDF format online. Will share with dd! Thank you everyone!
