Anyone use a disposable nappy reclying/collection service?

Baby due in 2 weeks, YES!!! Thought about using real nappies but I think I'll prefer the less faff of disposable. Thinking about my bin collections tho I am super concerned that with our 2 weekly collections, my bins will be overflowing with stinking nappies! Also I can't stand the thought of them hanging around in landfill forever. Have found companies that provide a bin and collect nappies and recycle them for about £14/month but wondered if any good? Anyone used them b4? Am I just wasting money or being a nearly new and idealistic Mum? All advice welcome....I am a blank canvass!

Honestly- spend the money on a cleaner or something else really useful. We have fortnightly bin collections too and not too smelly even in the height of summer. I use biodegradable nappy bags and Naty nappies which are also biodegradable.

Aaah cool, thanks! I haven't really looked far for nappies, just grabbed some pampers at the shop the other day.

Real nappies are easy enough - why not use a mix of cloth and eco disposable to ease yourself in? No huge outlay etc.

When Dc does a poo in a disposable, put as much of the solid as you can into the loo before binning the nappy.

Also, if using cloth even part time, consider cloth wipes full time. :)

Btw, biodegradable nappies only biodegrade in composting situations ( you can only compost wet ones not soiled). If you put them in regular rubbish then they are no different than regular except they produce more methane than regular ones which is obviously bad!

Oh really, I didn't know that. Cheers, seems this is more confusing than I thought!
