Bathing toddlers

How clean do you go? I normally let him sit in his bath (up to his waist in water) and then I get soapy mitt and run over the grubbiest parts (feet, armpits, hands). Rinse and then wipe face with a clean flannel. DH thinks this is unnecessary and just bastes DS with water periodically as he sits playing with bath toys.
What do you do?

I do what you do, but use a soft sponge and we use soft wash. Toddlers get mucky!

DS has a bath every night, most nights I just baste/spot clean tbh. Every three-four nights, I give him a good soaping down and wash his hair.

There's bubbles in the water so I think that counts as a wash Grin

Scrub top to toe because he's a disgusting little beast, but then because of his eczema he only has 2 or 3 baths a week. If he was in the bath every day I daresay he would be able to just wallow sometimes.

Depends on how mucky they are! Usually use a soapy sponge and give everywhere a once over. I have 4 young DC and sharing a bath is their favourite pasttime sometimes I let them was each other too causes less stress haha.

I don't think it matters as ling as you clean the mucky bits! :)

Trying to set the example/teach routine so we wash reasonably completely every night with a cloth, plus hairwash when required (every few days). DD can usually be encouraged to wash some bits herself and we're not too fussed if her attempts arn't thorough, provided the visible muck is removed.
OTOH we use very little soap except on her hair.
