Is she sleeping too much?

This might sound odd that I don't know this, but the age gaps between my children are large (15 & 5 year gaps) and I just can't remember.

I have a 2 week old DD, my third child. She pretty much wakes up every 3-4 hours during the day to feed (bottle fed with a small amount of breasty milk I express. Made a rash decision to bottle feed after a tough labour left me feeling like I was hit by a bus. Am now trying to re-establish my milk supply). She feeds, winds, stays awake for 10 to 15 mins (although also goes straight back to sleep mid feed sometimes too) and then sleeps again. She is alert when awake for that time, she just doesn't stay awake for long. Is this ok? DC2 was a terrible sleeper and DC1 is now 20 so I don't have a clue!!

Should I be worried?

Nope. I thought my dd was sleeping but actually she was just listening in with her eyes shut. Newborns sleep about 20 hours a day. So being awake for 20 mins and feeding could well be about right.

I think at that age the maximum awake time is about 1.30hours and that time includes time for feeding and changing.
If you are trying to establish breast feeding then I might suggest you wake her and try and feed her more often. Maybe every 2-3 hrs during the day.
I found my Dd slept a lot in the first couple of weeks. It changed soon after and I looked back on those days with longing!

Thank you!! Honestly, it's all worry!! It would be so much easier if all children did exactly the same things, just to give us parents a break!!
