DS is 18mo and is not a good eater he is not fussy and will eat almost anything it's just the amount thats the problem.

I'm cutting his milk right down as of tomorrow and am looking for some ideas of the most nutritious and high calorie food to give him. He's not big on salad but likes veg and fruit and all meat

Any ideas would be great.

Sounds like you've got it right. If he likes food then once you cut down the milk he'll likely eat more.
High energy things I give my ds 2.9 yrs who is REALLY fussy are:
peanut butter or almond butter with oatcakes
full fat milk at snack times
cheese
hummus
avocado(if he's in the right mood)
chicken Korma

Good luck and don't sweat it too much. I just try and think of his intake in terms of the week, rather than a day, it usually works out. Some days kids just don't feel like eating very much, if they aren't eating much all week then it's a bigger problem(usually illness).

Eggs are a big hit with my 17 month old-nutritious and quick. My DS still has loads if milk too so we are cutting it down to get him off bottles. DS isn't great with veg-he does try it sometimes which is a start.

thanks he's a real milk lover and seems to have realised it's much quicker and easier to have a bottle of milk than actually sit down and eat, he's never been a big eater but the combination of the heat getting his back teeth and getting smarter have made him a nightmare.

I try not to worry about today he's had half a weetabix 2 spoonfulls of rice and about 1/8th of a toastie :(

If he likes veggies and meat that's half the battle won.

Mine will live on houmous, eggy bread, banana and blueberries.

Salad is a bit rubbish for a toddler - no calories. They need a high fat diet.

Scrambled eggs are a hit with dd (20 months). Plus pasta, tuna and mayo mixed together.

Will he eat cheese? Grated on jacket potatoes with bolognaise (sp?).

I make homemade pizza bases with home made tomato sauce topped with chopped chicken, veg and cheese.

Homemade meatballs (so no crap in there) with pasta/rice

Pitta burgers (home made lamb burgers with hummus)

Avocado cubes to snack on (literally just cube a ripe avocado)

Almond butter on crackers for a snack

Homemade coconut milk icecream

thanks so much for the ideas he's had no milk today and though he didn't do well at breakfast or lunch (was at a soft play with MIL so no surprise he didn't want to eat) but ate 80% of his dinner and some yogurt so we are on a better track now :)
