Opinions on ergo insert?

Should I get an insert for my ergo? Due baby 2 in a few weeks. Already have a moby wrap but didn't get on with it last time. Anyone found the ergo insert good for newborns?

I used one and couldn't have done without it. He didn't seem to like the wrap sling and I don't think I was confident using it. But the ergo with insert was really easy to put on and he would fall asleep in it within minutes. He didn't like his pram to start or the Moses so that sling really saved me. Every 90 mins I would pop him in, he would sleep and I could get stuff done.

Thanks, that's really helpful.

You would definitely need the insert if you want use the ergo with a small baby. I loved mine and DS loved it as well. The only concern I would have is that it is quite warm. It was OK for us as be was born in October, but I would have been reluctant to use it on very hot days.

Forgot to add that we are still using our ergo on a daily basis and DS is almost two. Money well spent!

We got an ergo when dd1 was old enough to not need the insert and dh quite liked it. I got an insert for dh to use with dd2 who is now 9 weeks old but he really hasn't got on well with it. He has trouble telling if she is in the right position and I think he feels she's a bit inaccessible with all that extra padding around her. It did seem to help a bit when we added a folded up blanket to the bottom on top of the pad thingy to help push her up a bit but we haven't tried it again in the last week or two because its been so hot. I also got a stretchy wrap to use with dd2 but am not liking it as much as I thought I would - I find myself gravitating to the woven wrap I used with dd1 which took a little while to get used to but is now the most comfortable/easiest for me to get adjusted.

Dd loved the insert, we used to leave her in it (fast asleep) when taking her our of the carrier

It's a royal pain in the arse. I was never confident that my DD's legs were comfortable.
