Opps! Sorry, I'll finish!

Today we're going out for the day and I want to use the sling instead of the pram to see how I get on.

Is it ok to have baby in the sling for a longer period of time? So far the longest has only been about an hour?

She tends to get a bit of reflux after a feed so if shes back in the sling how do I stop us both from getting covered?

Any advice from experienced sling user welcome please! I'm getting all nervous for some reason!

Completely fine - mine lived in slings at that age, for as long as they would sleep and be happy. I loved not having to take the pushchair. Only thing is also having to carry all the baby gear you need as well as the baby, but perhaps you've got company on day out to do it for you!

I don't know the sling you mention - I used a Moby wrap at that age, or a babasling, moving on to an ergo or a woven wrap sling (my favourite) later on. But as long as it's not an upright carrier like the Bjorn, you'll be fine for hours. Wouldn't use a carrier that they hang in by the legs like a Bjorn for that length of time, though.

Its fine! The close islike a moby but pretied and with adjustable rings. Nothing like a Bjorn. Personally i take a pram too so ican put my bag and shopping in it and have somewhere to put baby when i want a hot drink. Pram not practical everywhere though so it is fine to use the sling if your baby will be happy in it all day

Hope you and baby enjoyed your day out in the sling! My dd has reflex too and when I take her in out doing I tuck a muslin down my top like a tucked in napkin to keep my top clean. Now she likes ducking on the sides of the sling I wrap a muslin round each strap so we don't get vomit on those either! My dd likes our sling ( a manduca) but dies appreciate a decent period out of it too to have a kick around. Nice and easy in summer as I just plonk her on the grass and she has a good wriggle around.

Reflex= reflux
Ducking =sucking
Clumsy one-handed iPhone typing whilst feeding!

The sling was a success! Minimal sick on me for once as well! She seems to settle really well in it (unless hungry!). Attracted lots of admirers - proud mummy Grin
