What's a good reusable nappy system to start from newborn?

After doing a ton of reading I have decided on getting a small set of size 1 bamboozle stretchies with small motherease wraps so i can start cloth as soon as possible when my baby's born. I have bought fleece liners too.

I am also going to try the tots bots and bumgenius all in ones in newborn and standard.

Do you think this will be a reliable system and are paper liners worth trying for breastfed new borns or are they less absorbant?

Those sound like good choices. If you have fleece liners I don't see a reason to get paper ones. I didn't get on with paper it just smeared the poo around. Bf poo just washes out in the machine. Occasionally it may stain but the sun will fade the stains out quickly. Buy second hand if you are happy to, you will save a fortune and in my experience one single nappy brand does not suit all circumstances and sizes you may need to change types and brands as baby gets older. Be aware the small bgs and tots bots will only last a few weeks though before they're outgrown.

Thanks smaths. Do you need to rinse fleece liners before dry pailing them? I'm not sure I wouldnt find this a pain but then I will be putting a wash on every night with a newborn due to volume of changes so could I put them straight in bucket unrinsed?

Put them straight into the bucket, no need to rinse as when you wash you should do a cold rinse in the machine before a 60 wash, then another rinse.Smile

Bambinex liners are good for newborns. They are thicker so hold the ebf poo more . They are also washable so you can chuck it if soiled and washed if just wet. It's the best of both worlds

I was disappointed with totsbots fit - thought they gaped too much at the leg.

motherease are good wraps.

have you looked at littlelambs?
after trying loads, they're the ones we use most of the time.

fleeceliners can be dunked in the toilet before washing to get the solids off :)

(you don't need to rinse the liners on a exclusively BFd baby )

(you get a fabric liner with each littlelambs nappy)
