baby belly button

Well the stump fell off and all looked to be healing well only my nearly 6 week old.
But deep inside her belly button there is still a little part that isn't fully healed and dried up. But because it's so far in it doesn't get the air even when she's nappy free to seem to heal. Am keeping it as clean and dry as I can on each nappy change, but it's not really improving. Can I do anything? It seems too trivial to make a gp appointment for... Thanks

My DD had this too. You need to make a GP appointment so they can treat it. It's nothing to worry about, they basically just used to 'colour it in' with this special pen a few times and it dried up in a about two weeks I think. If it's only tiny, they may just leave it to heal itself. They may even just give you the pen and let you do it yourself at home.

Or just raise it at the 6 week check if you don't want to make an appointment.

My DD had this, it worked its way out eventually and had dried up, so I quickly tweezed it out as it was too small for fingernails! But deffo speak to your HV to check, as I think DD might have been a bit older than 6 weeks. (plus my HVs were useless so I stopped asking them stuff!)

We'll I've only seen a health visitor once and she said she would only be back at 4 months and I don't feel like she was much use anyway or interested.
I had my 6 week check already but I will make a gp appointment as I would like them to look at my scar again and look at the belly button.
Thanks all
