Side-sleeping and leaky nappies

On medical advice, our extremely refluxy 3.5 month old DS is now side sleeping. It's finally getting him some sleep outside of the sling, but we've run into an issue of consistently leaky disposable boys nappies! They're not full up, it seems to be a positioning thing - even going up a size (he's currently 6kgs, and we tried the 'crawler' ones) did not address it.

Does anyone have any tips? Would it help to use cloth nappies, girls nappies, any other ideas?
We were so excited by him finally sleeping in a bassinet, and so sad for all of us that the wetness keeps waking him up!

Ooh sorry, totally left out that important bit of information! Blush So far I've tried huggies, aldi and tesco.

We use pampers, have since she was born and she always sleeps on her side. Only ever had leaky nappies if I've not been quick enough to change her in the morning and it's full.

Sainsbury's on the other hand leaked every single time, no matter what she was doing or how full/empty the nappy was.

I'd agree, try Pampers. I found that Pampers and Huggies seemed to be a 'half-size' different from each other (can't remember which was biggest) so that when one brand started leaking as DD grew, i'd switch to the other in the same size.

If you want to try cloth, I would recommend a Little Lambs Bamboo Size 1 paired with a Motherease Rikki Wrap.

There will be no leaks. Grin

Are you in the uk? I didn't know you could get different nappies for boys! I wonder if that's why we've been getting leaks!

We had this with DS when we started putting him on side. Going up a size worked mostly , but I see you've tried that. Could be worth using a reusable nappy wrap over a disposable nappy.

We use the Bambo ones (various places online including NCT) and have had no leaks despite DD sleeping in all sorts of weird positions.

Thank you! Have had our second dry night with Pampers, fingers crossed for the lucky third tonight Smile
