I love playing with my DS but run out of ideas of what to do other than use his toys as props or tickle/sing/walk and run around. What can I do with him that will help him learn and or tire him out. We got to softplay and rhymetime and go walks eveyday so looking for ideas in the house and garden.

Google 'heuristic play', ie play with everyday objects. Maybe your nearest children's centre runs a group for it. Ours does, sometimes.

My dd, 15 months, loves playing musical instruments with us, especially her keyboard - singing notes and short melodies back. She also likes "craft" (finger painting, scribbling with felts), playing in paddling pool (this really tires her out) and passing a ball back and forth.

I have 14m DTs - DTD loves building stacking cups/brick towers. she also loves he older brother's car ramp! and action songs - row row your boat is her absolute favourite.

DTS on the other hand loves to play peek-a-boo-tag! a good one for the garden, you just need a few chairs/climbing frame or similar to run and hide behind! he also likes to play football! (he was an early walker though so very steady on his feet)

we have animals painted on the playroom walls and both of them love pointing at each on and hearing me name them - you could maybe look as some of those wall stickers for them, or the alphabet /numbers if you were keen on something to teach them? my DS1 could point to the right animals by 18m doing this game.

mine also love water play - big basin and some cups is all they need - they love pouring it between the cups and bowls (and they drink some too which is great in this hot weather!!)

but what you're doing sounds fab, he is still only a baby really, it doesn't need to be too complicated Smile
