My 9 month old had suddenly stopped playing with a lot of her toys and I am going to put done away for future siblings (!) and some away for current dd to become like 'new' when she has forgotten about them but want some new in the meantime.

Anyone have any winners? The ones she has that she still likes play lots of irritating tunes so I want to avoid too many more of these. She also still likes stacking cups and Tomy 'eggs.'

TIA

Watching with interest as my 9 month old is similar!

Current winners are the paddling pool, box of wooden blocks (for stacking, bashing and putting in/taking out of said box), 'that's not my...' Books (for turning pages) and a load of ball pit type balls from ELC that are all different shapes - we roll them around, put them in the bath/paddling pool, put them in a big box for him to take out and chuck about, etc etc!

I got a load of soft lift the flap books from ebay. DD still likes them plus you can hung in washing machine. She loves the paper ones best but the flaps are too weak.

The library was doing free book bags about this age too so pop down and register if you haven't yet. Got some nice ones there!

My DD is almost 9 months and I have the same problem! Do you have a ride on/rocker as this keeps my little one happy and entertained (obviously have to sit with her).
She also likes her wooden bead toy, one with lots of coloured beads on wiggly wires. It sounds boring but it keeps her busy for ages plus it has no annoying sounds, which is a bonus! :)

Thank you nice people, especially for reading my posts riddled with typing errors. Blush. I shall certainly look at some of those. I would love a paddling pool (particularly today!) but live in a flat. Boo.

A shape sorter is a firm favourite with my 9 months old DS; until his older brother takes it! Lol Smile

Wooden toys are a winner for my almost 10 mo.

Favourites here are a small paddling pool filled with balls rather than water, and also one of those wooden things with pegs and a hammer. In fact the hammer by itself seems to be the biggest success, particularly when combined with an empty cookie jar Smile

For her birthday (DD now 11 months so started planning this Smile) she is getting a wooden ride on toy and a basic train set suitable for young children. She was playing with the latter at a friend's place and loved it!

Maybe the word I want is empty biscuit tin actually - def not something made out of glass obviously!
