12 months is recommended but a lot of people stop when their lo is crawling I.e, licking the floor!

I went by the book though and gleefully binned ours on dd's 1st birthday

If you are ff I wouldn't loose the steriliser too soon. Formula can contain some pretty nasty bacteria including salmonella which your Lo is unlikely to pick up from the playing on the floor.

Once Lo is 12 months you can ditch the bottles, steriliser and the formula altogether Smile

I also gleefully binned mine at 12 months. It does start to feel a bit ridiculous sterilising bottles when they start licking floors/animals/shoes but I still wouldn't risk it by stopping any earlier.

Between 6 and 8 months i think, the dishwasher blasts them then a rinse with boiling kettle water. Ds came off bottles at 5 months so his were nuby / munchkin cups from then - much easier to clean but not sterilise due to size.

I was told by my HV to keep sterilising until you no longer formula feed as the bacteria can hang around in the nooks and crannies in the bottle.

Think I agree with your HV bump. Sounds like you've got a sensible one.

I don't bother to sterilise the sippy or the doidy cup. I run it through and swill it after boiling the kettle for the formula. The cup is free flowing and easy to wash up.
I think bottles are different though. If I'd ever used them I probably would sterilise those just because they're tricker to clean.
