Hi all,

Can someone please recommend a good baby monitor. DS is 9 mo and I need something basic... sensor mats and video not required.

All the ones I've looked at have equal good and bad reviews... so unable to decide.

Thanks in advance :)

Hello!

We've noticed this thread is quite old and some of the product recommendations are a little out of date. We've spent weeks speaking to parents and testing out baby monitors. Read our baby monitor reviews for a list of the best products around.

Hope that helps! Flowers

I've recently bought a tomy monitor, it is absolutely fine and was half price at around £40 on tesco direct. It has a nicely designed base unit with a nightlight and a good parent unit with good reception. Hope that helps.

We have a tomy digital. It was half price on mothercare. The battery life is fantastic, I can sit downstairs with it from 6-11 without it plugged in and it's never once bleeped to say it needs plugging in which is great as I can have it next to me on the sofa (no plug near) and walk about with it in the garden.

I did have a bt pacifier but the battery life was awful and after a while it stopped.working as well it kept turning itself off and I felt I couldn't trust it overnight.

We have one of the cheap BT ones. Maybe the BT 250? I think it cost about £25 from Argos. Has worked perfectly well over the eight months or so we've had it.

Ive also got a Tomy one with night light and thermometer. Very happy with it

BT 150 here and it has been great. We don't need it now but DS loves to put the tunes on, on it before bed time so we'll be buying another monitor when DD is a bit older. Would definitely buy a BT one again.

Angelcare all the way!

another vote for the Tomy one - Does what it says on the tin and the little light is just enough for you to see where the LO has thrown their dummy /teddy etc. Temp display is useful also.

We had a motarolla one for the first 3 months but it started cutting out every 10 mins or so and I had to switch off and on again to get it to pick up reception again. We now have the Angelcare one and just use t without the mat - much happier with it.

I've got a BT200. No complaints and the thermometer has come in handy for the last few days. Although there's bugger all you can do when it's this hot!

Bt baby monitor and pacifier I think it's called, has a a selection on songs/noises that can be played, a light show projected onto ceiling or wall and a colour coded light to tell you the temperature. It's fab
