No sure if this is the right place to put this thread.
I am a mother to 2 under 5 children. Working full time. In addition to this, I do English / Math
tuition for a good rate of £30 per hour ( this is done at home, so there is no travelling time etc) . Is it crazy that I work fulltime and still take on extra work at home? The way I approach this is that the money I earn from extra tuition I pay for housework ? I get cleaning and ironing done. Because if I spend the time cleaning and ironing, then I better earn more money and pay for the cleaner. On the other hand, maybe it is better to spend more time with kids and not to give extra tuition till they reach 11 or so ? secondary school age? Please share your thoughts.

If you need the money, do it. I often do overtime either for the car service, extras on holiday, appliances. But my kid is with DH, her routine isn't changed and I make sure I am always there first thing in the morning and to put her to bed or start working after she's gone to bed. I realise sometimes this simply doesn't work with other jobs/families.
If you have, say, a set number of tuitions in a certain day, I don't see why not, it would be hard if it is one hour here and there all over the place.

Depends what is happening to your children whilst you are working.

If they have a full-time nanny/your DP/another single adult you trust to care for them then, as long as they are past the breast feeding stage then it probably doesn't matter much who that person for them to rely on is (i.e. it doesn't have to be you).

If they are in a nursery type situation during the day and/or you're trying to do the tuition without childcare then I'd personally not want that for my kids as I'd hope to be of more value to them myself. (And just have a messier home if I didn't have time for the cleaning).
