Lion King (the musical) for a 4.5 year old?

Just that really! Is a 4.5 year old too young? Is the show too long? Is it scary? We haven't even seen the movie, but DD knows some of the music.

GP want to take DD.

Thanks

It is a long time for DD to sit still & quiet.

And other theatre goers will have paid a lot for their tickets...

So it might be worth checking if there are any special children's performances on?

Has she ever been to a theatre production/indoor concert/similar before?

She has been to loads of children's theatre and ballet but this is the first proper 'grown up' theatre. I think not, even though she is well behaved. GP are determined. They want to treat her as reward for something she's done (no specifics, don't want to out myself!). I have suggested theatre aimed at her age, but I don't think they want to sit through that!

Depends on the child. My almost six and four year old sat through it but they are used to sitting through shows. The matinee shows always seem to have loads of school children making noise. ;)

We went with dds 5 and 7..... My 5 year old wasn't the youngest there.

Dds very used to sitting quietly, lots of kids theatre etc before and they loved it.

Dd1 hates the film as she cries when simba's father is killed, but its not as in your face in the musical adaptation and dd1 coped (although other children were crying) its also just before the interval, so there's time afterwards to calm down if your dd ges upset.

Booster seats are first come first served and ran out in our performance so would suggest you gt there early if you'd need one.

We sat in an aisle in the stalls and all the animal walk past you o get on the stage, which I knew about, dd1 (a sensitive soul!) didn't want o sit closet to the aisle for that reason, so I was glad I was prepared. She loved having a close up view fom behind the safety of DH though! So would recommend them as seats to choose.

Enjoy
