Camping and baby crying in the night

Currently camping and find myself worrying re DD crying in the night. If you camp does it bother you? Or are you just relieved its not your DCs making the noise? There's only one other family with small children and lots of couples of various ages. Last night she cried a few times - I think she couldn't figure out her sleeping bag and how to get on all fours to sleep with her bum in the air and where she was etc. Am seriously considering sleeping in her pop up cot/tent thing with her....going to be so stiff in the morning

You honestly don't notice/mind if it is someone else's. I have only been woken once by a baby crying and my only thought was 'thank goodness it's not mine'. I felt so unbothered by it, I regretted worrying so much about it when DS3 was small.

Unless it's constant and goes on for hours on end, no it doesn't bother me. Also, it's pretty difficult to even work out which tent the noise is coming from in a busy campsite.

I agree with Squidgers that it's just a relief when you realise it's not one of yours and you don't have to do anything about it! I really wouldn't worry tbh.

Definitely don't worry about it. You are super sensitive to your own babies' cries but I have found that others don't even hear it, even recently when our 2 year old had screaming night terrors, it didn't wake our friends in the next tent. And even if they do hear it, they are just pleased they don't have to deal with it.
The thing I really hate is the 5am wake up / want to play where you end up having to walk/sling the baby around a deserted campsite where everyone else is tucked up asleep. We always end up doing this, hope your dd doesn't do this!

5-10 minutes of a baby crying in the night would probably wake me (if tent close to ours) but would not annoy me.

Anything longer that 20 minutes of persistent wailing without any corresponding noise from parents trying to do something about it then I would get the hump.

Dd1 screamed instead of crying and the moment it started I would get her up and go and sit in the car with her until she stopped, and tbh while she was very little and the nights were very bad we didn't camp, for this very reason.

We were camping at the weekend and vaguely heard babies / children crying through most of the night. Mostly, it just made me feel better about my ds waking and glad it wasn't him crying. It wouldn't bother me at all and there's not a lot you can do about it anyway. Just try to relax and enjoy your holiday.

We camped last year, as soon as dd started crying she came in with us, and stopped crying. I felt really bad at the time, thinking she might be waking others up but since then its been everyone else's children crying and I don't feel so bad :)
I think I would be frustrated if like tail twister said- it was for a good while and the parents were doing nothing, but otherwise I would be just glad it wasn't mine :)
