Potty training at 11 months?

A fb friend has just posted about her DD peeing on the sofa, followed by a 'grr.. potty training not going well>:('

I am familiar with EC, but as I understand it, you've got to get in early to introduce them to potty and to learn to recognise their signals?

I sometimes sit my 14moDD on the potty at nappy changes. Very occasionally, she does a wee.

I am not expecting anything more until at least 18 months/when she shows signs of even knowing where her arse is.

11 months is too soon, right? Or should I be doing more?

Too soon! Don't feel pressured to even think about that yet!!!

my mother claims i was potty trained at 12 months (early 70s, pre disposable nappies, i think it was the norm) though as far as i can tell what she actually means is that if she left me on the potty long enough, it might get a deposit. the few friends i have who insist their dc are potty trained early seem to spend about 18 months clearing up poo and wee from clothes and the floor. i don't get it, me.

Perhaps if I sellotape the potty to her bum? That way i can honestly say she ^always goes on the pottyGrin
I thought it was a bit soon. Sounds like it'll be stressful for all concerned!
