What age did you stop using sleeping bags?

My 14 month old dd is currently just fitting into 12-18m sleeping bags and I don't know whether to buy bigger ones or switch to blankets?

Also which type of blankets should I use? I've got all the normal sized ones from when she was born and one large cellular blanket which she was bought for Christmas, also have a cot quilt or is she too young for that?

My 18mo is still in them and I'm glad as it prevents her from climbing out of the cot. I'm not planning to switch until she's in a Big Girl's Bed

DD1 was in hers until she went into a bed at 2.5. They're so much easier than blankets & quilts etc as they don't come off (unless your clever toddler works out how to undo them!) so you don't have to worry about them kicking off their covers in the night.

DD is only 15mo but on the 98th percentile for height, so wearing 24m size and she's still in sleeping bags.

Loads of brands size up - grobag and aden & anais for example.

Sorry, meant to say they go up to 36 months.

We have recently switched DD (16 months) as I didn't want to have to buy sleeping bags anymore. We bought a cellular cot blanket, a cot sheet and a cot coverlet, I think it's called, equivalent to a 2.5 tog duvet- which we use depends on room temp that night. it was a bit of a minefield in mothercare! When it gets colder I will buy a cot quilt or cot duvet. . She does wiggle lots, I tuck her back in before I go to bed, but is sleeping fine without the sleeping bag.

I use bigger ones - grobag do 18-36m. I'll stop using them when she's in a proper bed. They also help stop her climbing out of bed :)

we stopped about 1 because DS kept bashing his head on his cot by trying to stand up in it and falling because he thought he could walk normally in it! I now use fleecy sleepsuits over his normal pj's since he's free to move about and keeps his arms warm too. I have started putting his cot quilt over him to get him used to it but he just kicks it off all the time.

The sleepsuits are also cheaper than a lot of sleeping bags I got 2 from amazon for about £12 including delivery.

DD started climbing/belly flopping out of her cot at 2yrs so we moved her to a cot duvet once the hotest part of summer was over so she'd learn to snuggle down by time it was cold. Took a bit of time and a chest infection though. Sad
I think it is worth keeping a 14 month old in a grobag for as long as possible personally. Sooo much easier.
