So what are the best washable nappies/wraps?

I have a whole variety, particularly love my Earthwise Babies and Imse Vimses. Have been getting on well with Nature Babies wraps but with dd so active now (11 months and non-stop) seems they may be chafing a little. Any recommendations?

I like motherease airflow wraps although I've just bought some tots bots wraps which are performing much better now than the smaller ones I had when ds2 was smaller (he's 11 months too).

For nappies I still really like my tots bots the best - always choose these over anything else in the pile.

FlameBoo · 02/06/2006 20:29

I still love my tots, no matter how many others I try - bamboozles best. Airflows for me for wraps too though... although I am starting to adventure into the world of fleece and wool - do people use them in the daytime at all, or just night??

misdee · 02/06/2006 20:31

gotta be the tots bots are ME airflows here as well. they are the most reliable and comfty of all that we have tried. in fact i sold most of my others, only have tots and terry squares in use right now.

Mostly Tots Bots, MEOS and terries. ME airflow wraps.

But do like my Lovebums nappies.:)

alicemama · 02/06/2006 20:39

meos & airflow wraps but use wee notions pocket nappies for night-time

BonyM · 02/06/2006 21:59

Bamboozles far and away the best for absorbency/reliability - use Rikki wraps for day and Woollywrap at night.

Love my Happy Heinys as a "show off" nappy and for a pocket you can't beat the Bumgenius (there is a whole separate and very long thread on this nappy!).

Oh, Flame, I actually put the Woollywrap on dd this afternoon as her bum was looking a bit red so thought it would let it breathe better. First time I've used it during the day, but no wetness or leaks, and the bamboozle which was underneath didn't seem as wet as usual either when I took it off after 4hrs!

MrsDoolittle · 25/06/2006 13:16

Funny you should say that misdee, I'm the same.
I have been through a whole loads of nappies but I always return to the tots as they always seem to be the most comfy on.
I have 6 Bumgenius nappies that fit ds really well, but I'm going to get rid of everything else.

intergalacticwalrus · 25/06/2006 13:20

We have ME airflow wraps, which are great, and bumble nappies (similar to tots bots) which are great and stay lovely and soft after washing (even though you can cut through the water round here with a knife, it's so hard!)

juuule · 25/06/2006 14:18

Nappies: Tots Bots, Meos, terry squares.
Wraps: Motherease airflow.

FlameBoo · 25/06/2006 16:01

I'm doing the same MrsD - I am on wambamboos instead of bamboozles, but they are basically tots. I have tried out various stuffables and aios over the last few months, but don't like em anywhere near as much. I do love my woollywrap for bedtime now, but still lean towards airflows for days.

MrsDoolittle · 25/06/2006 19:28

wambamboos Flame??

peanutbutter · 25/06/2006 19:30

hello MrsDooLittle! how did you get on with the Huggles? were they up to the job?

MrsDoolittle · 25/06/2006 21:10

Hi peanut butter. I like them.
However, I will need to boost them still for both dd and ds. I'm trying to think of ways that I can achieve maximum absorbancy.

I think now, rather than buy more nappies, I need more boosters and good wraps.

I have both types of ME Airflow and Rikki but ds leaks out of the Airflow.

peanutbutter · 25/06/2006 22:13

yes, i certainly boosted them - used nappylady's boosters - but you could stuff them as much as you like to make them more absorbant.

expatinscotland · 25/06/2006 22:16

am still loving the bamboozle and getting another on payday. we alternate between the bamboozle and tots bots unbleached for night.

i do boost them, but w/a microfibre cloth from Lidl - works great.

i love the Rikki best of all b/c it seems to fit DD2 best, but swear by Tots Bots fleece for night.

during the day, Kissaluvs and Rainbow bots.

FlameBoo · 26/06/2006 08:22

wambamboos I agreed to do a nappy trial (ooh the hardship "We'll send you a free nappy, and in return you tell us what you think" )

They are really good - I'm finding them as reliable as tots, and they are slimmer at the front when they are folded down as a btp.

They even fit over DD's huge bum

CorrieDale · 26/06/2006 08:26

Bamboozles are great. But have just discovered a pocket nappy called Stuffie, and it's zoomed to the top of my list. Made by a WAHM - it's absolutely brilliant. Lovely fit, lovely feel, seriously cute. It's lined with fleece so if you don't like the thought of manmade fabric on your LO's skin, then it's not for you. But it keeps DS really dry. Oh God... I'm raving about a nappy.

CorrieDale · 26/06/2006 08:29

I came across Wambamboo's website yesterday and was wondering about them. I notice they have velcro rather than aplix. How do you find it?

FlameBoo · 26/06/2006 08:49

I nippa them, so don't know about the velcro... I can ask the other testers for you though?

h23 · 26/06/2006 09:03

Re: Velcro.
Don't know about Wambamboos, but I use BambinoMios, the wraps of which are sealed with velcro.
Now that DD is 14months, she can get them off herself (!) so she has to always wear a pair of shorts on top when she's in bed, otherwise there's a naked baby and a wet matress when i go in to get her!
