Hi all,

DS is almost 9 mo and loves looking at books. He have this which he absolutely loves and is very worn out right now. He also has a Winnie the Pooh book and another colour book.

Can you recommend anything else that your DCs loved when they were 9-10 mo??

Thanks :)

Any of the endless 'That's not my...' books, if you can bear them. I can't stand anything with noisy buttons on, but your baby might like them. Things like

digger

My DS is one next week and currently adores this book

This Little Baby

Yes, I was gong to say 'that's not my.....' too.

Hello i am a nursery nurse, does he like the hard books, the kipper books are nice and i think you can one about weather which would be a nice to do one to one its just one word print. Also what about about the touchy feely one as he can explore the different materials. Just a few suggestions. I don't know if you are very creative but you could make a story sack which includes a book and a few props of the characters from the books.

hope that helps

Yes, This Little Baby came in our first Bookstart bag and DS3 loved that.

He also like
Ten Little Fingers and Ten Little Toes
Me (Emma Dodd I think, about a penguin)

And from about 1 he started on THE best 2 baby books Peepo and Going on a Bear Hunt (which he has only stopped asking for recently at 3.6!).

My dd loved her 'Amazing baby I love you book' and would always flick through it at that age. Big hardback pages with photographs of other babies/children throughout. I've bought her a couple more from the same range which she has also enjoyed Smile

As already mentioned:

Going on a bear hunt
Peepo
Busy baby

Also you can buy little sets of 5 or so books in a little box, little ands find these light to hold and the very short stories are perfect or short attention spans we have had: Thomas, Dora, Peppa pig, Ben & holly, wobbly pig.

mikkii · 27/06/2013 22:47

Incidentally, DS(nearly 9) will let his 2 little sisters borrow his pop up "going on a bear hunt" but not have it. They each have their own copy.

Oh, yes, "dear zoo", they all have one each of that as well!

mumtosp · 28/06/2013 09:35

Thanks for all the lovely suggestions :)
Will look up all of these books and buy a few... DS is in for a treat :)

DS favourite was always Dear Zoo.

CeeeeHo · 28/06/2013 23:18

Definitely Dear Zoo and Oh Dear! My 11mo DD also loves My First Fun Farm published by Miles Kelly. 'Wow! Said the Owl' is a lovely book as is 'Hug'. Bizarrely, the book 'Pants' by Giles Andreae has been a source of great fascination for her from the age of about 5 months or so!

lola88 · 30/06/2013 21:01

DS has a farm book which you press the buttons for the animal noises he loves it and it's good for him to learn the animal noises.

We also have a hand me down I bought DN years ago called 'where's my mama' its another animal book that has pop up's and a very sweet story has been a big hit with them both. I got it from the book people its on amazon in the US links below I would imagin you can find it on the uk site too

Thats not my ....
Orange pear apple bear
Dear Zoo,
Very Hungry caterpillar
Monkey Puzzle (tho that might be me)

MortifiedAdams · 30/06/2013 21:11

Hard books used to frustrate dd, she would just want to gnaw them. But she loved laying on my lap while I read her The Gruffalo and Stick Man.
