Advice needed - Baby bath getting small & we only have a shower cubicle!

4.5m old DS will soon outgrow his baby bath & we don't have a big bath - just a shower cubicle with sliding door.

At some point we'll have to shower him but he still seems so small for water to be thundering down on him! Also I'm sad that he won't have a big bath to play in with toys Sad.

Is anyone else in the same boat & what do you do to get around the no bath situation?

Outside the glass cubicle, not outside in the garden, I should add!

DS loved the shower from an early age - even now we can't get him out of it once he's in - I made DP do it though, because I was worried about dropping a slippery baby, and DP is covered in hair so there was more to grip onto :)

Or we have been known to use the flexi-bucket thing in the garden like others

Are you sure the baby bath is too small? My 2 year old isn't tiny and is still in the Baby Bath. Plonk it in the shower tray so that if it over spills it can drain away and fill it right to the top for a brilliant splashing about time.

We got rid of our bath a few months before DS1 was born. Our shower has one of those bits to stand in and dry when you get out and the bath (standard Mothercare one) fitted in there. Maybe look for different sized bath.

The older 2 started showering instead once they could stand up, still trying to convince the 3 yo about showers though.

you can get inflatable baby baths - amazon has a duck shaped one and a clear plastic one - which will fit an older baby/toddler.

we only have a shower and XH and I used to take DD in (double sized cubicle) and one of us would hold her and the other would run the shower head over her and use baby bath foam stuff to clean her with. Just make sure the water is cooler than you would use for yourself obviously and that the water is not full on power shower!

We used to bath her at my mums about once a month, so that she got the fun of playing in the bath too, with all the toys and stuff.

DD 5yo now, will now stand in the shower and have her hair washed by me, but prefers a bath at my parents or at her dads place.

We have a bath and shower 6 month old ds loves the shower more than the bath. We have showered with him since he was a newborn, we have him with his head resting on our chest and bum sticking out with the water hitting his back/bum. The only problem we have found is he becomes too relaxed and sometimes falls asleep in the shower.

My 2 year old gets in the baby bath (her choice!) after her baby sister, so I think you can use it still if you want. And brings her toys with her! Or is there anyway you could change your bathroom to a 2/3rds small bath with a shower over it? Or get a sit in bath?
