Reusable Wipes Question

Now that we've switched to cloth successfully, we're considering a foray into washable wipes.

I've got a ton of those terry squares from IKEA.

If I cut one of these squares in two and don't hem it - I can hardly thread a needle - will it fray to all hell?

I use baby lotion with value microfibre cloths - too much like hard work to make up/clean out solutions!

I use baby lotion on my fleece wipes. I also bought a couple of metres of fleece and cut it up to make liners and wipes, you can get some great colours, I wipe dd's bum with multi coloured frogs!

not sure if you can get them - but theydo a size that is 1/2 a sandwich bag size - enough to carry a few wipes. Write clean/dirty on each and way you go.

soltuin gets made in no time - I have almost 3 sets of wipes - one for the washing, one on line and still enough to make up a thirs set - mainly cut out of old towels or chux robust - j cloths but robust - lasted over 2 years for us.

solution is - boiling water, 2 tbsp baby wash, 1 tbsp olive oil. when cooled use. I do it before I get to the end and just keep the remaining ones on top of the container ready to go.
