19 month old DD is a complete mummy's girl - when will this change?

Obviously I love that 19 month old DD loves and wants me, but it would be good if she wanted DH sometimes too. If I hand her over, she will kick up a fuss 80% of the time. But she's fine if I'm not around usually.

She is still BF and we co-sleep as well, so obviously very used to me. Oh, I still bf to sleep too, she gets very upset if DH tries to get her to sleep.

Other than that, she is generally a very confident and happy little soul.

Any advice??!

Go out more and leave her to DH-even if you just walk around the block.

Not sure - we are still in same position and DD is almost three. i am still BF at night, though. She does love DH and goes to him for more rough and tumble play and will turn to him if I am not there. it's tough - I think it will get better as she gets older. It is definitely better when she has spent a lot of time with him (ie holidays), so would second the giving them as much time together as possible.

They already spend time together - at the weekend (Sat and Sun mornings, both without me) and DH does bathtime mostly. So, as hands on as he can probably be with working long hours. But, I guess it's not like extended time together like a holiday but just a few hrs at a time.

I do feel sorry for DH when he's 'rejected' by her. But at the same time, it means that he doesn't ever get to comfort her and gain confidence in that side of parenting. Perhaps that's pretty normal though?
