Disposable vs reusable - conspiracy theory!!!

I usually use reusables but went away for the weekend and DS was due a monster of a poo so I took some disposables (didn't fancy travelling down the motorway with a big bag of something nasty as a travelling companion!) I noticed that when he'd done a wee it smelled really strongly.....something I have never ever noticed with reusables. Could it be that there is something in the disposables that makes them whiffy so that you change them more frequently or am I turning into a mad conspiracy theorist!!!!:)

one can get a little, ahem, obsessive about this though. we once found ourselves driving round and round Pembrokeshire for instance to find a laundrette while camping in the wilds, to wash the nappies, and realising that actually perhaps the occasional day or two in disposables isn't the worst thing ever.

similarly we went backpacking for a month once and took ages of dithering before realising that taking washables was just not going to be feasible in a hot climate with no regular obvious access to laundrettes.

very true fennel....I guess its the day in day out nappies that really count. Pack of stinky, saggy bummed disposables for us then please!

or take both with you and see what the laundry facilities are.

trust me, after a few days in a plastic bag in a warm climate washable nappies get a bit stinky too. we really have learnt this one by experience.
