Hi all

I have 3 dcs 5,3 and 1 and 1 on the way and have been at home for 5 years mostly I love it but sometimes miss normal life & hate the constant housework part...

Just wondered if anyone else has any good ideas for fun things to do or ways to make things feel more interesting sometimes

Mine are to make yourself an actual nice lunch pannini or a nice salad/sandwich rather than eating a dry crust or Philadelphia sandwich which dc haven't finished

Every now and again will just pack some lunch &. Just go somewhere fun, museum or farm & sod the housework for the day

Anyone else?

Mine is easy enough for me, but may not be for you with more than one at home (DS1 is at school)

DS2 naps whilst cuddling me on the settee. That gives me at least an hour which is "my" time - messing around on the Internet, reading kindle, doing some writing. And I get toddler cuddles.

I also try to make sure that Friday after school is baking afternoon with DS1. He loves it, and it gives us something to eat as a treat over the weekend.

I like your sandwich idea :) I have two dc's and one on the way so I know how mundane all the housework/teething/entertaining can be. I personally do a traditional Afternoon Tea around 1.30 ish after lunch and have quality time with eldest dc whilst youngest naps. I try to talk a lot to them and take them to parks/grandparents for a change of scenery. Hoping it'll get easier as eldest is due to start school in sept and I plan on taking younger two (when other is born) to baby group. I generally hate baby groups but think it'll be a good chance for middle dc to let off steam. I like to be back around 4 everyday though as that's when dh gets home and we have dinner together. It's hard and mundane sometimes but I like deciding what we do and having main organisation of the household.

Friday baking sounds great and I know my oldest would love that

Also Love the sound of afternoon tea very civilised! I think life may be slightly easier after Easter as my 3 year old gets her free nursery place so hoping I can some of the boring stuff whilst she is out freeing up the rest of the time for park etc

I find it really hard at that nap dropping age where you have no alone time at all during the day but find the school run does break up the day nicely and gives us a reason to get out
