What is your procedure when child is sick?

DS almost 10mo had his first sick episode tonight, luckily we were out and the projectile vomit landed on a tiled floor rather than my cream carpets. It got me wondering how do you manage when this happens at home? What do you clean up with?

1 parent manages child.....changing clothes, calming, giving bath if needed.
Other parent on hands and knees with wet rag, wiping (scrubbing) the sick up and then a liberal spraying of Febreeze over the area.

I use an old washable duvet for them to sit or lie down on.

I use old fleece blankets, tuck them around their shoulders so that hopefully they are sick on to that while I clear up the mess. Towels or old blankets underneath them.
Fleece drys quicker than towels so they are handy to have around for a d&v bug.

Get laminate flooring Wink

In all honesty we just go with it. Wet wipes remove a hell of a lot. I try to have a towel covering sofa arms so I can grab it quick for baby to vomit on while DH grabs the cloths and fabreeze spray. It gets easier as they're older and you can get them to throw up in a bowl!

If you do get sick on the carpets, after cleaning it off sprinkle some bicarb of soda on it. Then leave overnight and vacuum it up in the morning. It will neutralise any lingering smell.

Get as many towels as you have on standby and have them covering wherever your DS is. I usually take mine into bed with me and each time they're sick just remove the soiled towel and replace with a clean one. Have a supply of water close by to keep them hydrated and a thermometer too just to keep an eye on their temp. If he's around, DH is usually in charge of washing the towels etc.
