I know it sounds very silly but i am unsure about dd's poo, it is yellow but its rather runny is it ment to be like this (sorry if TMI)?
Sometimes its leaks out the die or she has a complete bum explosion & it goes all up the back of her vest?

is she breast fed?
if so it should be like lamb korma sauce, perfectly natural, we've all had it creeping out of the collar end of their all in ones at some stage.

No she was bf but have now stopped, would this still be normal? so its not ment to be a little bit hard?

My ds1 used to do this. Grin The first time he did the bum explosion thing dh was directly in the firing line, bending down to look at him, because we thought he was constipated and there were rumbling noises coming from his belly. The explosion was so loud I heard in the kitchen and came running in to see dh, the wall, the television and the curtains plastered with mustard-coloured poo. His glasses were completely coated Grin Funniest thing I've ever seen.

Seriously, I wouldn't worry if I were you, it sounds within the bounds of normal. I'm sure there will be people here who can actually offer advice instead of just sharing their sh*t-related anecdotes Blush

vair funny GS, did you take a picture

Well is it explosive all the time? If it was like that more than 50% of the time then I may raise concerns about bottle sterilising thoroughness.

Well done on BF for the first months

SomethingAboutMary · 06/05/2006 12:28

Lol Gs now that sounds funny Grin

I know what you mean though because i was at my sisters & was in the middle of changing dd's bum because she had done a poo but what i did not know was she had not finished, so there i was holding her legs with bum pointing at me & she decided to squirt poo all over my trouser leg & all over my sisters floor, it was gross Grin

It is runny all the time but does not explode out the nappy all the time, i am very careful about the steralising I have a very bad cleaing obsession (dont even go there) but i will see how it goes & mention it to the HV next week.
I loved bf but hit a very bad patch with ds (hes 3.6) & he was very jealous so it became very very difficult i was totally gutted that it ended but it had to at the time.

My DGD is 5 months, she was breastfed until 4 months then went on to formula. She had the yellow explosive stuff at first and she used to do it at every feed, then it went to about once or twice a day and like suzy said it would have been perfectly at home in an Indian take away. As the formula was introduced it gradually got a bit thicker but is still fairly soft and yellow. If she has prebiotics in her formula it will be a bit runny.

Sometimes she has a slightly green looking one, but as long as its only the occasional one and its not really watery then its not a problem.
