DS 3 almost got hit by a car today and DS 5 was so shockingly rude at a play date.....the whole of sainsburys must have reported me to social services.......

A horrible day...... I feel like such a terrible mum :(

Oh no poor you. Every parent has bad days. Try not to be so hard on yourself.

You're not a terrible mum.
You're just a mum with a 3yr old & a 5 yr old Grin

I have no advice, just that tomorrow is a new day.

Eachpeachpearwherestheplum · 09/03/2013 22:22

I have made a list of rules.....mainly that DS age 3 can not be trusted at all and will have to wear a back pack with lead. He was so close.....can't even type it..... He also figured out how to undo his seat belt :0 Is taking him to the police station ott?

Don't feel rubbish; If it's any consolation, my 3 year old tumbled down the (metal) escalator in TK Maxx yesterday because I wasn't holding his hand firmly enough, while half the population of the small town we live in gasped in horror and/or muttered about how I should have carried him/used the lift/had him in a pushchair.
Days like this are part of life with children - and they always happen as publicly as is possible! Roll on tomorrow, eh? :)

Hugs Misfit13 I don't think I will sleep tonight! Why are people so unhelpful too :(

Awh big hugs, you've had a bad day. I know what you mean about people been unhelpful I had a close call when I let go of the pram when trying to drop bags off at dry cleaners silly man thought he was helping me and he really wasn't pram flew off kerb onto main road I've never been so scared I was traumatised for months and thing I remember was nobody helped me they all just stood around really judgemental. Have a lovely lovely mothers day tomorrow. You deserve it, your children , I'm guessing are now happy and safe in bed looking forward to a nice day tomorrow with their mummy. X

My DD also worked out how to undo her seat belt at this age - we were driving along and luckily my car has a warning light which comes on. I screeched to a halt, kicked up a fuss, did it back up again and said she was never to do it again. My DD is a bit of a pushover, so hasn't done it again, but I think I put the fear into her by my reaction.

Kids are sent to try us.

Oh sweetiepie thank you for such a kind message and sharing your story. Gosh how scary....it always happens to quickly doesn't it. You poor thing.
It has helped a bit to plan new rules etc but I feel I let him down today, he is a baby and I sometimes give in too much and today put him in danger......

Beamur he told me he had done it....which made me think he knew it was wrong. I am shocked he can as it is stiff.....but he can.

At the end of the day (cliches all round here) no one got hurt, and you're all a bit wiser for the mistakes and near misses.
Hope you have a nice day tomorrow.
