Has your child moved school in the first couple of years?

And if so, why did you move them, and how well did they settle in?

I'm wondering if DD's school was the right choice, and am thinking of looking at other schools in the area.

She's in Yr1 at our local Catholic Primary school and I'm just not sure the Catholic route is right for us after all. I went to all Catholic schools so just carried on with it but it seems really old fashioned to me now we're actually in it.

There are other factors too; mainly that she's having trouble with a girl in he class, but I don't want my post to be too long!

Any experiences would be appreciated.

Yes, moved after first term in year 1 as moved out of London and are planning another move in summer so she will start year 4 in a new school. Move is not due to any concerns about the school but for general quality of life reasons.

She seems to have coped fine - first month a bit wobbly as she claimed to have no friends but her teacher said that wasn't true.

I think a lot depends on the child - a shy child who finds making friends difficult I guess will find a move harder than a more outgoing child. Mine is quite anxious but once she has 'warmed up' to a situation she is generally fine.
